American Akita

The American Akita has a balanced character and a stable psyche. They are alert to everything that happens, freedom-loving and independent. Today, this breed is used not only as a companion dog, but as a guard or service dog, or even as a guide dog. These dogs are extremely silent, unless, of course, they have been taught otherwise by another companion dog.
Today, the American Akita is used mainly as a companion dog, a faithful family friend and at the same time a devoted guard who knows his territory and is ready to defend it even in the most extreme situations.
The American Akita is a dog that embodies two cultures. The history of the breed began in Japan along with the history of the Akita Inu, but in the last century their paths diverged. The American Akita evolved in the United States, acquiring unique personality traits and appearance. Today the American Akita is a powerful, independent dog with a strong character.
